As a homeschooling family, we sometimes get into a rut, especially this time of year. We have our routines in place, we get our work done for the day, and it gets kinda …boring. So, when a holiday rolls around, especially Valentine’s Day, it hits us that we need to do something fun!
One of my favorite relaxing things to do with my kids is color. My youngest loves his coloring books, and my two older children, especially my 12 year-old, loves adult coloring. I do too! We have our colored pencils and gel pens (and my littlest one has his box of crayons), and we love to just sit at the kitchen table and color together. It always sparks some fun conversation, and opens lines of communication with my tween. It’s always a rewarding move to bring out this activity.
