DIY Homemade Poison Ivy Paste Recipe
This is a popular DIY recipe that uses colloidal silver and essential oils. You might use it to care for other itchy ailments such as mosquito bites as well.
- ¼ cup of Bentonite clay
- 3 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
- 6-10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oils
- 3-5 drops of Lavender Essential Oils
- 5 drops Colloidal Silver
- 2 tbsp. Aloe Vera Liquid (Optional)
* This will keep covered in a jar for about 2-3 weeks in the fridge.
In a small bowl add the clay and apple cider vinegar. It will fizz, but just let stand until the mixture is stable.
Add peppermint oil, lavender oil, and colloidal silver to the clay mix. Slowly stir until fully combined.
You can use this mixture just as it is this way. However, for a more creamy consistency, organic Aloe Vera cream can be added. The aloe further helps calm the itching and burning.
Why this works: The Clay mixture apparently pulls the poison ivy oils up from the pores, thereby drying up the rash very quickly. Adding the apple cider vinegar and colloidal silver acts as a type of infection preventative. The Peppermint and lavender oils act as a pain reliever: calming and soothing the skin. It is a wonderful way to relieve the discomfort.
