Each week, I’ll present a different resource that will help you in your endeavors to teach your preschooler at home as cheaply as possible, or even better – FREE! Or, I’ll introduce you to another great website to assist you in living an abundant life on a not-so-abundant budget. So, without further ado, here’s this week’s fine pick!

I heard about Starfall two years ago when I first began looking into homeschooling. I asked my homeschooling friend what she did with her younger kids while her older ones were doing their schoolwork, and she told me about this website, among other things. So, I’d also like to share it with you.

Starfall is great for learning the alphabet. There are tons of games to play: from learning phonics and early reading skills, all the way to higher-level reading games for more advanced readers. Laynie enjoys the alphabet practice, and is finally able to use the mouse well because of Starfall, too – the games start out really easy, and are great for teaching computer skills like using the mouse at the same time it teaches reading skills. I especially like the printable alphabet practice sheets, and I’m using them to help Laynie learn to write her letters. She likes doing them!

Have you used this website with your children? What’s your favorite aspect?
